Joe Sim Is Professor of Criminology and Co-Director of the Centre for the Study of Crime, Criminalisation and Social Exclusion at Liverpool John Moores University. It is through Joe Sim that it is possible to hold our conferences each year at Liverpool John Moores University. He is a long-time supporter of United Against Injustice, he chaired the first ever meeting in 2000, Joe has spoken at our conference on a number of occasions

Dr Anne Hayes, senior lecturer in Criminology at LJMU

Anne as a young student attended the launch of Merseyside Against Injustice and has been a long time supporter of United Against Injustice.

It is thanks to Anne's tireless efforts that help the day run smothly.

DEAN SULLIVAN is an actor, director and radio presenter probably best known for playing Jimmy Corkhill the lovable rogue from the television series Brookside, for which he won many awards including British Soap Special achievement award.


Dean is a long-time supporter of UAI, previously chairing the conference on 3 occassions.

 Michelle Diskin-Bates will address this year’s conference, copies of her book Stand Against Injustice will be available.
Michelle is a woman of integrity and dignity and we are honoured to have her as a patron of United Against Injustice.

 A self-confessed "ordinary housewife," Michelle’s voice weaves the personal everyday struggles that bring depth, colour, and passion into what is an extraordinary account.
